Today I Am Not Ok, and That's Ok
How are you today?
I'm great how about you?
What if you're not actually ok. Do you still answer you're great? Do you feel the need to always say you're doing well, your business is doing well and for appearance sake everything is just right in the world?
There's a lovely artist named Julie Campbell (you can find her on Etsy here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Jushmu. I bought a pin from her that said "Today I am not ok, and that's ok", the wisdom of that quote is simple.
Admitting you are not ok, that you need a day off, or a get our of jail free card is absolutely ok. It's not a sign of weakness but actually a sign of strength to admit when you need to take a break.
Sometimes you've have been working so hard and burning the midnight oil that don't even realize how exhausted you are before you finally just crash! That's when you realize you need to take some time to yourself.
You're better when you feel re energized and rested. You make better decisions, and produce better work.
Be careful that you don't use not being ok as an excuse or a way to procrastinate about doing something you don't really want to do.
Tough moments, whether because of situations that didn't work out, overwhelm or exhaustion can be an incredibly powerful way of regrouping and moving forward much more successfully
Once you acknowledge that it's ok to not be ok, and that even though your situation is not want you want it to be at that particular moment, you can accept that what you are feeling is allowing you an opportunity to breathe
ACCEPT. BREATHE. RESET. MOVE ON
Life is short, be kind to yourself after all if you won't be, who will?
